Mosaic tile - the detail that finishes a room

Mosaic tile is the detail that takes a bathroom remodel from finished to designed. A shower floor, backsplash band, or niche in glass, stone, or hex mosaic adds a custom-built feel that a flat [tile floor](/tile-flooring) alone doesn't give you. Mosaic is also the right call for shower floors - the small pieces follow the slope to the drain without lippage, and the extra grout lines add grip exactly where a wet floor needs it.

Most mosaics come on mesh sheets roughly 12x12 inches. The skill is in the seams between sheets - lined up wrong, you'll see a grid pattern across the whole installation. We dry-lay every sheet first and hand-pull individual pieces to break the pattern at sheet edges so it reads as one continuous field.
